Verity Mod Not Working Fixes

Use this page when Verity Mod is not working after download, the box does not spawn, the dialogue box is missing, Verity only says "...", Java crashes, AI does not respond, or an old download link returns 404.

Exact symptoms Java + Bedrock Safe source first

Pick the closest problem

Bedrock

Box not spawning

Recheck behavior pack activation, cheats, command permission, and exact addon command. If the world is old, create a fresh test world with the same addon.

Bedrock

Dialogue missing

Remove UI and texture packs that change the interaction item, confirm the resource pack is active, and restart Minecraft after changing experimental settings.

Bedrock

Only saying "..."

Enable Beta APIs, re-run the connect command, and check whether a support tutorial or project comment mentions the current server or command format.

Java

Crash on startup

Match Minecraft version and loader first. A Forge profile should not use a NeoForge file, and a 1.21.1 file should not be tested in a 1.20.1 profile.

Java

AI does not respond

After the mod loads, check Groq or Ollama setup outside Minecraft. Restart after provider changes and test with a clean profile before adding other mods.

Download

Old link or 404

Avoid random mirrors. Search the project name on CurseForge or the known project page instead of downloading from Discord reposts, MediaFire, or Google Drive.

Diagnosis method

Separate source problems from setup problems

Source problem

A source problem happens before Minecraft can give you a meaningful in-game symptom. The page is gone, the download is 404, the file is on a random host, the project name is slightly wrong, or the file extension does not match your edition. In that case, do not keep reinstalling the same file. Find a traceable project route first.

Source problems are common during a trend spike because reposts appear quickly. A safe route should show the owner, file version, supported Minecraft version, update date, comments, and platform category. A direct file with no project context is harder to trust.

Setup problem

A setup problem happens after you already have the right route. Java may crash because the loader is wrong. Bedrock may import correctly but fail because the world did not enable packs or experiments. AI may fail because Groq or Ollama is not configured. These need different fixes, so the first question is not "is the mod broken?" but "which layer is failing?"

Use a clean profile or clean world as the baseline. If the clean test works, your old setup has a conflict. If the clean test fails, return to version, loader, pack activation, or provider setup before downloading another copy.
