Use this quick checklist when Verity Mod messages appear in chat but no voice or sound plays, when VERITY.exe does not talk, when Smiley's Better Voice is silent, or when a microphone tutorial does not make Verity react. This note does not host Verity files, collect API keys, upload audio, or claim that a voice symptom is a malware verdict.

## Quick checks

1. If typed chat works, do not reinstall first. The base Verity route may already be loaded.
2. Turn up Minecraft master volume, voice, note block, hostile/ambient sliders, operating-system output, Bluetooth/headset output, and launcher audio output.
3. If Better Voice 4.0.0 is installed, confirm the parent mod is Verity JE 6.0.0 before debugging Fish Audio, Cartesia, microphone, or Groq keys.
4. If the parent route is intentionally older, open the official Better Voice files/all page and exact older file page before choosing a 3.x or 2.x row.
5. For VERITY.exe, test direct chat first, then separate voice chat, Groq key, provider quota, TTS, microphone permission, and profile setup.
6. For Java Verity JE, prove one short typed prompt before debugging live microphone input or Simple Voice Chat.
7. For Bedrock Verity BE, activate behavior and resource packs together, enable the required world options, and use `/verity:tts on` when that route documents local TTS.
8. For Android Java launchers, verify microphone permission and inspect the independent Smiley OpenAL route separately from the Verity JE file.
